Chestnut Creek Falls is a cool little waterfall on the New River Trail between Galax and Fries Junction.  If you park at Chestnut Yard on Iron Ridge road, you have pretty much exactly one mile walk to get there.  From what I can tell this is the closest parking spot.  Not that it really matters, but when you are lugging around a tripod and hip waders, the shorter the walk the better.

I have been here many times, it's a great walk for the dog, a picnic, or a great spot to cool off in the summer.  The following are some images I have taken of the falls this winter.  The bottom images were taken today, after the snowfall.
